Donna Clark, Marquis Bureau, and Michelle Cooper are the founders and Leadership Partners of Courage Group International – Holistic Organizational Transformation Inc., incorporated in 2009. The leadership consulting and leadership development expertise of our team is grounded in extensive work experience in leadership positions in government, education, health care and not-for-profit organizations. The partners are Certified Practitioners of The Leadership Circle™ and authorized trainers and Co-owners of the Genuine Contact™ program.

Our offices are located in Nova Scotia (Halifax), Quebec (Gatineau Region) and Ontario (Hamilton). An international network of associates who share our values and approach and who have a variety of expertise partners with for specific projects to assist us to best serve our clients. Services are provided in both French and English. Services can be provided in other languages including Russian, German, Swedish, Spanish, and Dutch.

Our clients cross many sectors- government, the arts, education, health care, not-for-profit, and private corporations. The approach we use is agile and adaptive to the context of any client and works with the expertise and wisdom within. It is ideally suited to assist organizations and the people in them to lead and succeed in the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment that is the new norm.

Marquis Bureau BA, MA

Marquis L. Bureau is an internationally featured organizational transformation consultant and trainer. As a dedicated learner his purpose in life is to help people he works with reach their highest aspirations. He possesses great compassion and seeks to be of service to others. Marquis brings over twenty nine years of teaching and training experience. His talents lie in his ability to work with groups and individuals using an experiential learning approach to foster transformation. Transformative or growth centered approaches require that he establishes relationships of trust and reciprocity with participants by becoming co-learners. Colearning implies letting go of the control of agendas and objectives as well as the pre-determined structures and roles at the root of power differences between facilitators and participants. Passionate about openness and authenticity, he accompanies his clients on a holistic path of discovery and implementation of solutions.

He is the founding president of Collège des Grands Lacs and a former president of the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education. Since the early 90's, Marquis has overseen several international development projects with the World Bank, African Virtual University, Asian Development Bank, UNESCO and Commonwealth of Learning. He teaches in the Leadership and Management Program at the University of Ottawa and group interventions and leadership at St. Paul’s University Ottawa, St. Mary’s in Halifax and Vanier College in Montreal. Marquis has studied in Sociology and Higher Education.

Donna Clark (ODC), CMC, ACC

Donna Clark is committed to developing the capacity of individuals to lead with courage and compassion and create life nurturing, high performing organizations. Donna brings a combination of executive experience and 18 years of private practice in coaching, leadership and organizational development, strategic planning and conflict transformation. Her clients come from the private sector, government, international executives, unions, and non-profit organizations. Donna supports clients in discerning and creating the future they desire for their lives and their organizations and developing their leadership and strategic actions to get there. She has degrees in science, education and business, is a Certified Management Consultant, Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation, Newfield Certified Coach, and is a Registered Practitioner in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Clients say she works with enthusiasm, high energy, an engaging and innovative style, and authentic presence in her work. She has an ability to create conversational space that inspires learning and supports the achieving of results beyond expectations of clients. Donna is able to speak within her clients’ reality and support exploration of uncharted territories in a way that generates true transformational leadership experiences. Michelle Cooper RN, MScN, ACC

Michelle Cooper brings a holistic approach and a wealth of experience as a leader, educator, coach and consultant to her collaboration with clients. Michelle has extensive experience providing coaching, leadership development and experiential learning for a wide variety of clients in health care, education, not-for-profit and government organizations. Her interest is in co-creating extraordinary work cultures that enable the organization and the people within to achieve greatness. She works with leaders to discover and leverage their strengths; to be conscious of their ways of being and doing and their impact on others and the organization; and to create breakthroughs in the way they see the world. She supports leaders to develop the creative competencies to lead effectively and authentically, to enhance engagement and achieve results. She builds meaningful and lasting relationships with her clients through her warmth, compassion, presence and humour.

Michelle has a Certificate in the Art and Practice of Ontological Coaching from the Newfield Network and is an Appreciative Inquiry practitioner. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing at McMaster University and has taught at York University, Toronto and St. Paul’s University in Ottawa.
